Let’s cut to the chase. Btootos A90 Pro wireless earbuds are cheap, cheerful, and fairly robust. And they cost next to nothing in comparison with “premium” earbuds brands. That’s the review. A set of these earbuds is nothing special. They don’t have a particularly sleek or modern design. They have decent battery life. A simple yet effective light up screen on the outer shell to display said battery life. And the sound quality is adequate. They are a jack-of-all-trades, master of none.
A safe bet
That is why they are a safe bet. For a decent price you get reliability. For the average user, that is enough. It is for me anyway. And they come in a butt-load of different colours. Like, as many different colours as you can think. Mine are dark blue. Because I like the colour dark blue. Go figure.
And they are super robust too. I’ve dropped mine plenty of times. They still work. I’ve scratched my name into the back of the plastic outer case. They still work. I haven’t yet put them through the wash though. Then they might break. But probably not. If they do break, I can buy a new pair. They are cheap enough.
See, I refuse to pay lots of money. I am notorious for losing single earbuds at a time. Why would I pay lots of money for something that I’m prone to lose? Luckily, I keep finding them again. But if I did somehow lose one forever, a new pair is super cheap.
I’m actually on my second pair right now. That’s only because I dropped one of my old ones and it got run over by a double decker bus.
True story.
As I walked out of the bus shelter, the right earbud fell out of my ear and then bounced under the wheel of the bus as it pulled up to let me on. It was a very sad day. The remaining earbud still worked, but I wanted a complete pair. I used it until my new ones arrived.
A few bells and whistles
There is no dedicated app to adjust any in-depth settings, which means they should be accessible to any user, tech-savvy or otherwise. Like most earbuds they are touch sensitive. Things like playing and pausing audio can be done through their touch capabilities. That isn’t too impressive really, but then don’t forget about how cost effective they are.
You can even use them for hands-free phone calls thanks to the embedded microphones. Those microphones aren’t that good, but they…function…
